ice cream parlour

The sun is shining, the temperatures are rising: Summer is just around the corner! And what would a lovely summer be without creamy ice cream? Especially if you explore the capital on foot, you will encounter numerous ice cream parlors on your way. Here we'll tell you where it's worthwhile to make a short stop or pick up a bullet on your fist:

VANILLA & APRICOT

A very manageable shop in Kreuzberg in terms of space, but an even larger and more unusual selection of ice cream and dairy-free sorbets in a wide variety of colors and flavors. From Belgian fine chocolate to prosecco mint sorbet or lemon cinnamon, there is hardly an ice cream wish left unfulfilled here. In keeping with the name of the small chain, the fruity apricot sorbet in summery pastel orange in particular receives a clear recommendation. Made entirely without artificial additives and with fresh ingredients in a Kreuzberg backyard, the creations of this Berlin-based ice cream manufacturer have long since ceased to be an insider tip. You only get what really belongs in the ice cream, and you can taste that. It is not for nothing that vanilla and apricot can now be found seven times in Berlin.

MISS FROST

Fräulein Frost's friendly ice cream parlour in the hip Reuterkiez in Neukölln is not to be missed on warm summer days. Numerous ice cream fans frolic at small tables on the sidewalk and enjoy exotic varieties such as strawberry basil, guzimi (cucumber lemon mint) or chocolate ginger. Despite the ingenuity shown by changing varieties every day, classic varieties such as vanilla, hazelnut or chocolate are not neglected and are definitely worth a scoop. Here, too, everything is pure organic and comes completely without any unpopular artificial additives. One more reason to check back every few days and try out the new, delicious creations.

  • U-Schönleinstraße: U7

ISABEL ICE CREAM PARLOUR

The Isabell ice cream parlour on the Admiral Bridge of the Landwehr Canal impresses above all with its unique location. In one of the most beautiful corners of Kreuzberg, with a scoop of ice cream in your hand, you can watch the hustle and bustle of Berliners, tourists or street musicians, stroll comfortably through the beautiful, adjacent Gräfe neighborhood or simply lie on the banks of the Landwehr Canal and enjoy the Berlin summer while the sun shines on your stomach. Definitely a top destination for afternoon walks through wonderful Berlin.

Esmeraldas INKA Café

Guava, Guánaba, Hierba Luisa, Lulo, Lúcuma: You can find these and many more unusual varieties in Esmeralda's Inca Cafe in Schöneberg. Away from the usual Berlin ice cream mix, typical Latin American fruits and Peruvian flavors form the basis for sweet, nutty and fruity things. On the recommendation of the house, I tried the lúcuma fruit ice cream and the fruity-sour Lulo — and was immediately impressed. If you don't feel like ice cream, you can also find typical Peruvian coffee, cake or hearty dumplings in the cozy shop. A must for all Latin America fans and adventurers among you!

EISMANUFAKTUR BERLIN

The Berliner Eismanufaktur — a true institution for innovative ice cream enjoyment in the capital for years — also focuses entirely on natural taste and regional production without any industrial additives. With as little sugar and fat as possible, the goal remains excellent consistency and full of flavor. The now six ice cream parlors throughout Berlin speak for themselves: Not a utopian idea, but really come true in a wide selection of creamy ice cream and fruity sorbet. You can easily reach the nearest branches on foot from our hotels during a nice walk.
